In 1860, Giuseppe Peruzzi and wife, Giulia, opened a silversmith shop in Florence, Italy, specializing in handcrafted items.
Giuseppe’s brothers joined the business with him and Fratelli (brothers) Peruzzi was born. It became a huge success over the many decades and the business has been handed down through the generations, each honoring the uncompromising traditions of its founders. It is one of the oldest shops in Florence and still located on the historical Ponte Vecchio which is lined with a variety of artisan stores. In 1910, an American branch, Fratelli Peruzzi Silversmiths, was opened in Boston, but closed its doors in 1973 and moved back to Italy. Fratelli Peruzzi thrives to this day and its handmade items are sold worldwide. Pieces marked simply 'Peruzzi 800 Silver Florence' are those made prior to 5 Feb 1934 when a new Law required uniformity in the shape of silversmith's marks.

~ The Peruzzi pieces have
fabulous
Open Backed Blue Spinel synthetic gems (5 total). Each one is 12 x 10mm and has a depth of 5mm. *Tested with my Presidium II, the stones are not glass and register in the Spinel spectrum. Approximate Total Weight is 20 Carats. FYI: The production of Synthetic Spinel began in the mid-1800s and natural Blue Spinel is rather rare.
~ Bracelet: 5 Openwork Hinged Floral Panels (4 have gems), 6” inner circumference and unclasped, opens 2” for an easy on, 1” wide, Tongue & Groove Clasp, Safety Chain, 38.9 grams, Stamped Peruzzi, Silver 800, Florence
~ Pendant Pin: 1-3/8” across x 1”, Hinged Loop for Chain, Pin mechanism is constructed with a Tube Hinge which is the oldest type and helps to date the piece, 9.1 grams, Unsigned, but is obviously a perfect match to the bracelet.
~ Vintage 1980s Chain: 30” Serpentine, 2mm wide, Spring Ring Clasp, Stamped Italy & 925 in several places, 5.1 grams, Excellent condition!
~ Four Pieces of jewelry: a Pin, a Pendant which may be worn with other chains, a Bracelet, and a lovely Chain which may be worn alone or with other pendants.
CONDITION:
Peruzzi pieces are in Excellent
Antique condition
with very minor surface wear considering the age. No chips on the gems. When editing, I noticed a few spots of old polish – not a big deal, but just wanted to mention it. I have not polished the pieces and patina is present. Please view all photos to judge for yourself keeping in mind that they’re high def Canon pics which exaggerate any flaws that may be present.
